I felt awkward with the previous versions of Adobe’s lightroom. After the first review of the 4.3 I was discouraged. I haven’t used my Fujifilm X T1 since then. But when I checked the latest Lightroom version 5.5.2 I was amazed by the performance. It was much easier to use. As I see it, Lightroom’s focus is on the proper management of your files. And that’s a good thing. It also now supports Batch Rename and a new Color Adjustments option. I hope they add a few more Image Size settings, just like Photoshop.
However, a more important question one should ask is – why exactly are you using Lightroom in the first place? Are you a Scanner, Traditional Prints, or are you a Photographer who loves to edit images digitally? Also, is your facility based only on Windows or on Mac as well? And what does your camera do with respect to the Lightroom? Do you provide your clients with digital proofs which you wish to forward to them? We can basically classify our use of Lightroom through the lens of Answers to these four questions and we would be able to tell whether we are using the right version for us or not.
Further, the question of whether we like the latest upgrade or not can be answered quite easily. For after all, the significant upgrade in Lightroom 5, if included all of it, is probably all the features we see in the new interface. There is nothing more significant than this new UI. Of course, there are minor bugs here or there after we latched on with the much-touted “Wow” feeling that the new interface gave us. But the truth is that after all, Lightroom is supposed to be a workhorse for all the digital and film photographers who are looking for image management tool.
The most recent version of Adobe Photoshop offers some great new features. Photoshop now includes a timeline, which is a collection of frames over which you can work on your image. In the previous version, you could apply one effect from a collection but the frames did not include different kinds of effects. Now the timeline includes all the frames, frames of different types, and you can access these to apply them to your image.

With lightroom mobile, you can quickly capture images, edit them with a range of tools you are already familiar with, view them in high quality on your phone, and apply any effect you like. Combine lightroom mobile with your phone’s camera and you can edit all the photos on your phone.
All Photoshop layers are saved into separate files. Firstly, this is because a layer is not always what needs to be saved. Any edits made to a layer will not be reflected into other layers. In order to make all changes to a certain layer, you need to make a new layer using your current file and saving it, as opposed to simply removing and adding your edits to your current layer.
You may not know where to begin, but if you are getting a bit stuck, think back to what you know about the tool you are working with and what you learned from experience, as time allows you to tap into that experience to overcome tricky situations that may leave you scratching your head.
It is the best photo editing software. It´s happened to me more times than I care to admit: You have a photo so hip that the client can´t figure out what they want from it. You hire a bunch of designers and use Photoshop to get it into shape and the client is not happy with the results. It´s not the fault of the designer, this tool is really powerful and not a beginner friendly program.
