You’ll still use powerful features from Photoshop to edit your Web images such as the ability to generate normal map textures, support for blending modes and highlights, and powerful layers. You’ll also still get iPhone and iPad mobile photo editing features for iOS (iPadOS) which use the same platform as the web-based workflow.

With the web-based approach of the new Photoshop, if you have a compatible browser, you can access Photoshop without the need for a newer version or desktop downloads. The web features are also compliant with the larger screen sizes of mobile devices, making your life easier by making it faster to find the tools that you need, including those on the desktop for greater productivity.

To be honest, I feel that this product will be a chameleon, taking on a form factor and appearance based on what makes sense for the design and the market segment you’re targeting.While there is a lot of great work coming out of Adobe in the desktop application arena, the Elements team are very proud of what they have delivered with this new product. It is packed full of features although it lacks many of the underlying edits that we have had for decades. However, it is what it is, and it does what it does very well!

The improvements to the Select and Mask tools dramatically increase speed and accuracy. Users are never locked to the tool’s selection preview nor are they required to clear selection labels; many of the tools that were previously difficult to select can now be easily selected.

Adobe also provides users with more sophisticated ways to navigate the selection process. Many tools and selection tools can now be used independently or in combination with other tools. Users can also customize the picking process so that picking is done as quickly as possible, and choosing views that are most effective for the task at hand. And the redesigned feature-set for hiding selection modifications allows for greater control and privacy when editing images.

You can also make perfectly smooth transitions between two images, regardless of the sensor size in either of them.

Smart Contrast & Sharpening – Sharpness is now based on the edges of objects in images. The contrast of shadows and highlights is given importance. Smart Sharpener is the tool that can analyze the type of work that you are doing and select the right presets for your work.

The new Photoshop mobile app enables you to edit images out your phone and tablet through the shared camera view so you can edit the images right from your phone or tablet. The app now supports all Android and iOS devices with a screen sized from 2.6 to 12 inches for free.
